How it works

From the first message to going live, in eight steps you can read in advance.

Everything is in writing: what is being built, what it costs, what you provide, when it is approved. This is the process every client goes through, and the agreement describes it in the same words.

  1. 01

    The first message

Email or WhatsApp. Tell us what the business does, where it is, what already exists (a site, a Google listing, a Facebook page, nothing) and send a few photographs if you have them. There is no form and no pitch.

  2. 02

    Questions, then a look

We ask what people say when they walk in, what they type into a phone when they need you, and what the rules of your trade allow you to say in public. We look at what already exists before anything is designed.

  3. 03

    The agreement

A plain-English agreement lists every service and the rate for each, written in by hand and initialled by both of us, or confirmed in writing. Paid work starts after it is signed and, where the agreement says so, after an advance is received. A service with no agreed rate has not been ordered.

  4. 04

    Your content

You give us the text, photographs, logo and facts the site needs, within seven days of our asking, in a form we can use: typed text and original files rather than screenshots. Where it helps, we photograph the premises with your agreement. You confirm that everything you give us is yours and true.

  5. 05

    The build

The site is built as fast static pages and published as a private preview at a hosting address, marked as a preview and hidden from search. You see the real thing on your own phone, not a picture of it. One revision round is part of the build.

  6. 06

    Review and approval, in writing

You check the preview and approve it in writing. An email or a WhatsApp message is enough. You are the publisher of your website: approving means you have checked the content and take responsibility for it. Nothing goes live without that approval, except a repair to a broken page.

  7. 07

    Go live

The preview notices come off, search engines are allowed in, your domain is connected and Google is told the site exists. You receive a complete copy of the site files. They are yours.

  8. 08

    After

The care plan keeps the site current: content updates, minor adjustments and quoted major ones, within the response times in your agreement. The Google Business Profile and Search Console are set up in your own account. While the care plan runs, we remind you thirty days before your domain expires.

Your part

What you provide.

  • The facts: what you do, your hours, how people reach you, and what you may and may not say in your trade.
  • Text in your own words, or the facts for us to write from.
  • Photographs as original files, or an agreed time for us to photograph the premises.
  • A logo if you have one. If not, the name set well is often enough.
  • Access as a member of your hosting and Google accounts. We never ask for a password, and we will show you how to turn on two-step verification.
  • Written approval at each step, and the advance where the agreement says one applies.

Questions

Questions people ask

How long does a website take?

Timelines are set per job in writing, and they run from the day we have everything we need from you: content, approvals, access to your accounts, and any advance. If content, feedback, access or payment arrives late, the dates move by the same number of days. Recent builds ranged from two to eighteen pages.

Do I need a domain before we start?

No. Until you have one, the site runs on a free address from the hosting company, which is fine for a preview. Your own domain is registered in your name, in your own account, and you pay its renewals; we never own or hold it.

Do you work with businesses outside Kolkata?

Yes. Everything except photography at the premises happens over email and WhatsApp, and the hosting and Google setup are the same anywhere in India. For a business further away, you supply the photographs or we agree on a photographer near you.

What happens if I want changes after the site is live?

You send the request in writing and we confirm which kind of change it is: a content update, a minor adjustment, or a major adjustment that is quoted first. Unused monthly allowances do not carry over. An urgent same-day change is a separate item, and only when we are available; if we cannot do it that day, we say so at once and no urgent charge applies.

Can I take the site elsewhere later?

Yes. The domain, the hosting account and the Google accounts are in your name, you hold a complete copy of the files, and you can remove our access at any time. Nothing about your business depends on us.
