Cost
What a website costs in India, and what decides it.
There is no price list here, on purpose: a price binds only when it is written into a signed agreement. What can be said plainly is what moves the number, what never costs extra, and how a quote is agreed. The studio is in Kolkata; every item below is the same for a client anywhere in India.
What moves the number
Six things decide it, every time.
How many pages, and which
A clinic can say everything it needs on four pages. A shop with collections, occasions and a care guide needed eighteen. Each page that answers a real search earns its place; pages added to look big cost money and rank nothing.
Photographs
Supplied as original files, or taken at your premises with your agreement. Photography is the single biggest difference between a site that looks like your business and one that looks like anyone’s.
Writing
Supplied in your own words, or written by us from the facts you give and approve. Either way the claims stay yours, and in some trades the rules limit what may be said at all.
Features
A gallery, a downloadable list, a form that delivers to your WhatsApp, anything needing new code. Each is a separate item, quoted in writing. Most independent businesses need none of them.
Hosting and Google setup
Fixed jobs, done once: the hosting account in your name, the domain connected, the Business Profile created or claimed and completed, Search Console set up. Then a year of hosting management if you want it.
The care plan
Content updates and minor adjustments on a monthly allowance, with the response times written into the agreement. Major adjustments are quoted as they come.
Included
What never costs extra.
- Hosting itself, on the hosting company’s free plan, which has been enough for every site so far. A paid plan, if ever needed, is yours to choose and pay for.
- HTTPS, security headers, a privacy page and a terms page in plain English.
- A complete copy of your site files at go-live and at handover.
- Removing the "Designed and built by" line, if you would rather not have it.
- Saying no. If a feature would not earn its cost, we say so before quoting it.
Paid to others, in your name
What we never buy for you.
- Your domain and its yearly renewal, in your own registrar account.
- Business email on your domain, if you want it.
- Licensed images, if you supply any bought from others.
- Any paid hosting plan, should the free one ever stop being enough.
You pay the provider directly, in your own account, so everything stays registered to you. If you ask us in writing to pay on your behalf, you reimburse us at cost and the thing bought is still in your name.
How a quote is agreed
In writing, before anything starts.
The agreement carries a services menu. Every service you want is marked, its rate is written in by hand and initialled by both of us, or confirmed by both of us in writing. A service with no agreed rate has not been ordered and will not be done. If we agree that something is free, we write that down too, and every other term still applies to it.
Where an advance applies to a job, the job begins when the advance arrives. Each job, and each care-plan period, gets an invoice showing the menu’s item codes. Payment is due within seven days of the invoice date, by UPI or bank transfer with the invoice number in the remark. We do not take cash.
Changes after go-live follow the same rule: a request comes in writing, we confirm which kind of change it is, and a major adjustment is quoted before it starts. If we disagree about which kind it is, the request waits until we agree.
Questions
Questions people ask
Why is there no price list?
Because a price on a page is not a price for your site. The number depends on the pages, the photographs, the writing and the features your business actually needs, and it is written into your agreement by hand before any paid work starts. That written rate is the only one that binds either of us.
Is there a monthly fee?
Only if you choose the care plan or hosting management, each a separate item in the agreement. The hosting itself is currently on a free plan in your own name. Nothing recurring is hidden inside the build price.
Do I pay before the work starts?
Where the agreement says an advance applies to a job, we begin that job when the advance is received. Each job, and each care-plan period, gets its own invoice showing the agreement’s item codes. Payment is due within seven days, by UPI or bank transfer, never in cash.
I already have a website. What does a redesign cost?
It is quoted the same way, from the same menu, after we have looked at what exists. Your domain stays yours throughout, and if the current site is hosted or held by someone else, the first job is usually getting the accounts into your own name.
What keeps the cost down?
Text and photographs supplied in a usable form, on time. Pages limited to what people search for. Approvals in writing without long gaps, because dates move by the same number of days that content, feedback, access or payment arrives late.
