Care and updates

Website care and updates, in plain words.

Three kinds of change, named the same way on every invoice, so you always know which one you are asking for and what it will cost before you ask for it. Response times are written into your agreement, and you always deal with the people who built the site, never a ticket queue.

On the menu

The three kinds of change.

01

Content updates: you supply the text or photograph and we place it in an existing slot. New hours, a new phone number, a swapped photograph. A monthly allowance can be part of your plan.

02

Minor adjustments: a small change that needs no new layout and takes up to about half an hour. Wording, a notice in the existing banner slot, a colour tweak, a fixed link.

03

Major adjustments: a new page or section, a change to the layout, a new feature, a redesign, anything needing new code. Always quoted in writing and done only after your written yes.

04

Also on the menu: holiday or changed-hours notices, updates to a treatment, staff or product list, a downloadable document, photo preparation, an urgent same-day change when we are available, and fixing problems caused by changes made by others.

05

Response times are written into your agreement, and you always deal with the people who built the site, never a ticket queue.

A care plan is optional and separate from everything else. Stopping it does not put your site, your hosting or your domain at risk, because none of the three sits in our name.

Questions

Questions people ask

Is a care plan compulsory?

No. Plenty of sites need nothing for a year at a time. The plan exists for businesses that change their hours, their staff list or their offers often enough that waiting for a quote each time is a nuisance. If you do not need it, we will say so.

What happens if I stop the plan?

The site keeps working and stays yours. The hosting account, the domain and the files are already in your name, so nothing switches off and nothing is held back. You go back to paying for changes one at a time, quoted as they come.

Can you fix something another person broke?

Yes, and it is a named item on the menu rather than an argument. We look at what changed, quote it, and fix it once you agree. We do not charge extra for the awkwardness of it being somebody else’s work.
